12 Days of Wellness

With Christmas just around the corner, we can easily get caught up in the festivities. But it is important to remember to maintain self-care during this busy time! Here are my 12 days of Wellness; a selection of activities that will make you feel good this December.
Day 1: Follow a Skin Care routine
As the days get more chilly, we would much rather have the extra five minutes in bed. But taking the time to follow a good morning skin care routine will be a great start to your day. Not to mention, the effects the cold weather has on our skin. Make the time and you will reap the benefits!
Day 2: Go out for a Wintery Walk
Nature has the ability to restore calm in our lives. Often in the winter we actively avoid going out in the cold. However, I encourage you to wrap up and step out the door! This time of year holds so much beauty and I can guarantee you won't regret it.
Day 3: Do some Festive Baking
Are you a fan of Gingerbread Men? Or are Mince Pies more to your taste? Whatever your favourite festive treat, get your sleeves rolled up and let the bake off begin! Either gift them to a friend who needs uplifting, or keep the sweet treat for yourself.
Day 4: Create a Christmas Playlist
Create a new playlist with all of your favourite Christmas songs, have a boogie and feel good! That way, you won't have to skip the boring ones (hehe).
Day 5: Burn a Festive Candle
Make your home feel cosy with a candle lit evening. Have a bubble bath, light some candles and have some time for yourself.
Day 6: Catch up with a Friend
The way we celebrate the festivities with our friends is definitely different this year. Make the effort to call a friend who you miss and let them know you are thinking of them!
Day 7: Support a Charity
During December charities such as food banks and shelters see a higher level of demand. If donating money isn't an option for you currently, consider donating your time by volunteering.
Day 8: Have a Digital Detox
Remember that social media is generally a highlights reel of people's lives. This can make us feel isolated and negative, especially during the festive period. Take a break, it will be there when you come back :).
Day 9: Practise Gratitude
A few weeks ago on the blog we spoke about the importance of practising gratitude... how is it going for you? Here is a little reminder on how to count your blessings. What are you grateful for this December?
Day 10: Clear out your Wardrobe!
As the year draws to a close, it may do you good to have a bit of a declutter. Go through your wardrobe... What do you never wear? Is there something in the back of your wardrobe that you forgot you had? This is a simple act of self-care that can relieve a lot of baggage.
Day 11: Support a Local Business
Remember, when you support a small business, someone somewhere is doing a happy dance when they receive your order. Shop local... make someone happy dance!
Day 12: Listen to a Relaxation MP3
Making time for relaxation is the ultimate self-care. Whether you want to be guided to sleep or if you need support removing anxiety, my catalogue of MP3 Downloads can help you.
